Katherine Jackson's Statement on the AEG Trial Verdict
Perry Sanders, Katherine Jackson's attorney, released the following statement on her behalf yesterday:
"AEG has denied for years — and continues to deny — that it employed Dr. Conrad Murray. The jury unanimously accepted that AEG did employ Dr. Murray. AEG has consistently called this case an extortion. Such a statement is a slap in the face of the entire justice system that allowed this case to be placed in the hands of a jury. We said from the beginning that this case was a search for truth. We found the truth. AEG hired Dr. Conrad Murray, the man who is in prison for killing Michael Jackson."
Katherine's attorneys had prepared themselves for an appeal even before the verdict was announced, as the final line of the statement makes clear:
"All options regarding the balance of the jury's verdict are under review."
