Justin Timberlake: Even Being in Michael Jackson's Shadow Is an Honor

After taking home the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at the MTV ceremony (news), Justin Timberlake participated in a phone interview with Hot 97 radio.

During the award acceptance, Justin had said he didn't deserve it but wouldn't give it back. The host asked Timberlake whether he truly felt he didn't deserve the award.

Timberlake said he had previously been nominated for a Grammy he felt he deserved but didn't receive — yet this was the first time he felt unworthy of an award, because:

"Even having your name mentioned in the shadow of the greatest artist of all time, in the shadow of Michael Jackson, is itself an honor — it gives you a sacred feeling."
