Lawsuit Against the Michael Jackson Foundation Over the Song “This Is It”

Three years after the release of the song “This Is It,” a music producer named Michael Jonzen claims he had a hand in producing the track. The song is a collaboration between Michael Jackson and Paul Anka. Jonzen, in a lawsuit filed in a Massachusetts court, is seeking $24 million in damages from the Michael Jackson Foundation and Anka. He says he owns one-third of the song and that he was never paid his rights.

In a statement, Paul Anka said he had never even heard of this man’s name, and dismissed his claims as a bunch of nonsense.
