Roger Friedman: The Foundation’s Explanation About Bad 25
Earlier, you read information about the unreleased songs of Bad 25 here: here. Part of that article, which was quoted from Roger Friedman, was included. He added more to his remarks some time ago:
"Sony Music liked what I wrote, but the Michael Jackson Foundation is worried that the title of the article (the riddle of Michael’s unreleased songs) implies the songs are impure. Never! They are 100% Michael’s songs and they’re fantastic. The Michael Foundation wrote to me in an email:
‘There is no riddle about these songs. All of them were recorded in Michael’s home studio in Hayvenhurst. Bruce Swedien never worked with Michael in this studio; he only heard the songs that Michael delivered in the studio (Westlake) to Quincy Jones for release on the album. As a result, there are many songs that are unknown to Bruce. And Bill Bottrell doesn’t even know the names of all the songs he worked on. Is it strange, given the huge number of songs made during the Bad era, if Bill forgot the names of some of them? And of course, Bill wasn’t the only person who worked with Michael at Hayvenhurst. Matt Forger was also there.’"
Friedman continues: "Bad 25 fans will love it—believe me. I hope Sony makes some of the demos really shine. I’m so Blue is so addictive it’ll drive you crazy."
