Paris Jackson Talks to Glamour Magazine
Paris Jackson, Michael Jackson’s 14-year-old daughter, is on her way to becoming a star.
Glamour magazine writes that in many ways she’s a typical teenager: she formed her own group at school, she’s into a wide range of music styles including rock and metal, she stays up late at night and works on Twitter until 3 a.m., she takes photos at sunrise, and she shares those photos—and many other photos of herself—on Instagram or Twitter. But whatever the case, she has never been an ordinary person and she won’t become one, because she is Michael Jackson’s daughter.
Her interview will be published in the magazine’s October issue, but here we can read a portion of what she said.
"Many people (including my aunt Jannet) don’t want me to go into this profession (acting). But my aunt Latoya believes in me. I played guitar and sang for her, and she started clapping for me, saying, ‘Oh my God, oh my God.’ She really encourages me. It’s amazing."
"I love my dad and I’m proud to be his daughter. But I don’t think the title ‘Michael Jackson’s daughter’ is enough for me. A lot of people think I’m in this because of him, but I want to show that I have the talent for this job, and if I try, I can succeed. I want to be myself."
Paris doesn’t copy anyone and creates her own style. She said:
"Kids at school don’t like me or my friends because we don’t think traditionally. We don’t imitate anyone. Prince calls me goth (referring to gothic rock fans with a dark, sad atmosphere), but I’m more into rock ’n’ roll. I also listen to older music like AC/DC or Phil Collins. A lot of kids at school make fun of me. If I could advise other girls, I’d tell them to stay cool and ignore them. No matter how much they think they have fans, they shouldn’t be able to mess up your life."
