Michael Jackson’s Staff Members Attend Court Today

Defense attorney Carl Douglas, representing three former Michael Jackson employees, said that today and tomorrow his clients will appear in court to testify against Conrad Murray, the doctor accused of the Pop King’s murder. They are Amir Williams, personal assistant and head of staff; Alberto Alvarez, a security officer; and Fahim Mohammed, security supervisor. In August 2009, the Los Angeles Police Department questioned these three people, and their statements helped clarify some complex issues related to the timing of Michael Jackson’s death and the actions of his doctor. Alvarez is the person who called an ambulance. He was the only one who was in the room with Conrad Murray and Michael—who was not breathing—before the paramedics arrived. Previously, it was said that Alvarez had witnessed Murray, instead of helping Michael, being busy destroying evidence, and that he also asked Alvarez for help. The two of them collected the bottles of medicine and syringes and put them into a bag. Only after that did Alvarez call the emergency services. Paramedics said that Michael had already died before they arrived. After Alvarez’s statements were published in the media, the Jackson family fired him, who had been working at the time at the Encino home. In documents obtained by the Associated Press, Murray told police that at 10:40 a.m. on June 25, 2009, he injected propofol into Michael and then left the room 10 minutes later to use the restroom. Police, by checking Murray’s mobile phone, found that he had been talking on his phone from 11:18 for 47 minutes.
