Michael Jackson murder defendant: I am innocent

In a brief hearing held today at the Los Angeles Superior Court, Judge Michael Pastor asked the defendant in the Michael Jackson murder case to defend himself against the charges.

Conrad Murray said: “I am an innocent man, Your Honor.”

Based on the evidence available, the judge ordered that the trial be formed for the defendant. Today, he set an agreement for February 7 to address certain matters, including deciding how the court proceedings will be covered by the media. He also announced that the next court sessions will begin on March 28 (8 Farvardin) for the selection of jurors. Murray’s presence at the February 7 hearing is optional, while it is mandatory on March 28. If he is found guilty, Murray could face up to four years in prison.
