The Gates Into Norlend in Japan

The only official gallery of Michael Jackson memorabilia that will generate income for his foundation and his children—titled “Lifetime Collection”—has been opened for two months at Tokyo Tower in Japan since May 1. To enter this gallery, people pass through the enormous entrance doors of Norlend, Michael’s ranch in California, USA. Tokyo Tower welcomes visitors to the exhibition with lights.

These gates were removed from their original place last year for sale. After Michael stopped selling them, a display tour of his memorabilia was set up. The exhibition had previously been held at the O2 Arena in London—the same place where the King of Pop’s summer concerts were supposed to take place. In this gallery, more than 280 pieces of the King of Pop’s belongings are on display. Among them are a 1967 Rolls-Royce car, an antique piano, the 3D Thriller video outfits that Michael was filming in 2009 before his death, stage costumes, shiny sequined gloves, and music awards.

Michael has always been welcomed in Japan, and since his death he has been at the top of the sales list in this country. Also, the film screening of This Is It—which describes Michael’s rehearsals for preparing his concerts in London—broke box office records, and the film’s DVD is the best-selling DVD in the history of film releases in Japan.
