Grace the Nanny Was Fired

Some online news sites say that Michael’s children’s nanny, Grace Rwaramba, was fired by Katherine Jackson, the children’s grandmother.

Grace, who had been employed by Michael since 1994, after the birth of the King of Pop’s first child in 1997 began working as a child nanny and kept her position for years. She was dismissed in December 2008, and then, in the spring of the following year, in an interview with an Israeli reporter, Dafne Barak, she made statements about Michael’s financial situation and his drug use, and said that Michael’s children were afraid of their father. She said she had once not allowed the children to meet their father. Grace also cited interference in Michael Jackson’s affairs and financial disagreements as reasons for her dismissal. She said that after being removed from her job, she was not allowed to say goodbye to the children.

After Michael’s death in the summer of 2009, Katherine Jackson—who had become the guardian of Michael’s children—invited Grace back to work again, and it was said that the children had asked for Grace. Grace took back her statements and claimed that the mentioned interview was fake. Until, that is, a video surfaced on the internet showing her saying those lines.

It has been reported that Grace’s dismissal of the 43-year-old happened after she got into an argument with Michael’s 12-year-old daughter over her school assignments. Online sites wrote that Paris had told her grandmother that she and her brothers didn’t like Grace and didn’t want to be with her. Apparently, Michael’s children found out about Grace’s secret, and they are furious with her for falsely claiming that they were afraid of their father. Grace had previously also had tensions with Rebbie, Michael’s older sister, after Michael’s death and at the beginning of her time in Encino; as a result, Roger Freedman reported her dismissal, though it was not true.
