Jackson Family Protest Over Involuntary Manslaughter Charge

Today, after news broke about Conrad Murray’s arrest, Brian Oxman, Michael Jackson’s father’s lawyer, said in an interview that the involuntary manslaughter charge against Conrad Murray angers the Jackson family. He said that Murray’s negligence in caring for his sick patient was so severe that any charge less than “second-degree murder” is very unfair. In the state of California, the maximum sentence for involuntary manslaughter is four years in prison.
