The 1985 Mercedes-Benz 500 SEL belonging to Michael Jackson was one of the items put up for auction at Hard Rock Cafe on November 21. Michael had given the car to his aunt, and she had changed the license plate to “Thank you, Michael.”
Charlie Moore, a man from Gatlinburg, bought the car and plans to display it at the Hollywood Stars’ Car Museum in this city in the state of Tennessee. He paid $100,000 for the vehicle. Although he expected to be able to buy it for between $50,000 and $60,000, he admits that the car is worth the hefty price he paid. He says he considers himself a fan of Michael Jackson, and he cites his popularity as the reason he bought the car.
