Michael’s Voice in a Jay-Z Song
Black rapper Jay-Z, in a recent issue of the British magazine NME, praised Michael and tried to portray the tragedy of his death from another angle:
“I think it made Michael—away from everything else—be honored as the genius that he was, and I don’t know if something like that would have happened if he were alive now.”
He also revealed a secret. Michael can be heard in the background of his 2001 remixed track. The rap-style song is titled “Girls, Girls, Girls,” and Michael’s vocals are heard in the background. Michael’s name was not mentioned on the CD of this song, and for that reason no one knew anything about it. After Jay-Z announced this news, the song was downloaded many, many times.
“He called me and we only talked about syncopation and music topics. And in the end, the Michael Jackson I knew was a music-loving musician.”
