The Essential Steps Down From the Top

The Essential, the 2005 album, after being at number one for eight consecutive weeks, dropped to number 6. The album Number Ones was also at the top of the charts in the United States until last week. This album reached number one just two days after Michael’s death and stayed there.

The King of Pop has nine albums among the top 100 best-selling albums in the UK. Bad is at number 19, and Thriller is at number 23. The Essential has had the longest time at the top of UK charts among Michael’s albums. Bad and Thriller each stayed at number one for five weeks at the time of their release.

The Essential and Number Ones are number one in Australia’s album and DVD charts, respectively.
