A Korean newspaper sues the Jackson family

Segye Times, a South Korean newspaper, filed a lawsuit on Monday this week, bringing a $7.9 million claim against Michael’s mother, father, and his brother Germain. The newspaper, in 1990, claimed that it had paid the Jackson family $5.5 million to carry out concerts, and after those concerts were canceled by them, it sued this family as well as Michael. In February 1992, Michael reached a settlement with them over the newspaper’s lawsuit against him. But it’s unclear whether Michael’s lawyers are now handling the case on his behalf, or whether Michael is no longer connected to the matter. In that court case, Michael’s mother and father and Germain were not present, and a ruling was issued against them. Their request to have a retrial was unsuccessful.
