A film about Michael’s rehearsals is being prepared

If next Monday’s vote by Judge Mitchell Beckloff is positive, we should expect the imminent release of a film about Michael that includes footage of Michael’s rehearsals for the This Is It concerts that were set to be performed in London. Katherine Jackson will also be present at the hearing so that if she has any objections, they can be addressed. Yesterday, an agreement that had been signed on Friday between the concert company AEG, Columbia Pictures, one of Michael’s companies, and others was released. The agreement is part of more than 500 pages of documents related to Michael’s estate, which were made public on Tuesday. Columbia Pictures has purchased the right to produce this film and to use the rehearsal footage of Michael for $60 million. Under the contract, this feature-length movie must be suitable for all ages and be 150 minutes long. Also, no scenes that present an inappropriate image of Michael should be included in the film. Michael’s lawyers, John Branca and John McClain, were present in these negotiations. Michael’s company will receive 90% of the project’s profits, and the remaining share will go to AEG. Michael’s share will be deposited into a personal account for the use of his three children and their mother, Katherine. Columbia Pictures must release the film in theaters by October 2.
