Michael nominated for a World Music Award

Michael is one of the nominees for the 2008 World Music Awards. Along with Kid Rock, Enrique Iglesias, and James Blunt, he is nominated for the award “Best Male Pop Artist in the World.” This year’s World Music Awards ceremony will be held in Monaco on November 9.

If the award is given based on worldwide album sales, Michael Jackson would certainly win. Because Thriller 25th is the best-selling album of the year among the nominees.

The 2008 World Music Awards will be broadcast in the United States on December 2 on MyNetworkTV and will have live broadcasts in Africa and the Middle East. The show will air in Ireland on November 16 on RTE 2, and in London on November 21 on Channel Four.

Michael Jackson: Thriller 25th — with 2,238,500 copies sold worldwide — number 12 among the 50 best-selling albums in the world in 2008

Kid Rock: Rock’n’Roll Jesus — with 2,153,000 copies sold worldwide — number 13 among the 50 best-selling albums in the world in 2008

James Blunt: All the Lost Souls — with 1,047,000 copies sold worldwide — number 37 among the 50 best-selling albums in the world in 2008

Enrique Iglesias: 95/08 Exitos — with 800,000 copies sold worldwide — outside the list of the 50 best-selling albums in the world in 2008
