The veteran and well-known actress, Elizabeth Taylor, says she believes the pop star and her good friend, Michael Jackson, is "absolutely innocent" and that his innocence "will be proven." In this statement, she also criticized the media for their "disgraceful" behavior toward the King of Pop (a title she had attributed to him years ago). In this regard, she said, "All of their reactions are such that he is a criminal. I thought the law is based on innocence until guilt is proven. I know he is innocent, and I hope all of them correct themselves." The longtime actress added that she will not speak to them because of the way the media has been treating Jackson.
In another report, Michael Jackson’s father said he supports his son by "three thousand percent." Joe Jackson said his child has been selected by complainants who were driven by jealousy. Mr. Jackson added, "We are unhappy about what is happening because we don’t know why they are doing what they’re doing. When you sell more than all the people in the history of music, they develop a tendency to bring you down." He made these remarks during a phone call with the program Larry King Live on CNN. On the show, his daughter LaToya was also being interviewed. Michael’s sister said, "Michael will come out proud." She insisted that her brother is doing well and that people should let him live his life.
