Bill Bellamy: You, your brother, and the «Scream» video were nominated for 11 MTV Music Video Awards, and that hasn’t happened in the last decade. How does that make you feel?

Michael: It’s really, really an honor. And I’m sure my brother feels the same way. We worked really, really hard on this video. Producing work like this is a very important achievement. I’m really, really happy.

Bill Bellamy: That’s amazing. When I saw the «Scream» video... there’s so much energy in it. You guys are just like two electric cars. How was it working together? The dancing and all that...

Michael: It was great because we love to dance. And dancing with my sister brought back memories of the past. Because it gave us the chance, sometimes instead of working, to waste our time playing around and throwing things at each other, and just having fun. Seeing it behind the scenes was just as entertaining and fun as watching the video.

Bill Bellamy: You guys have to make another video for us (the fans). Because we love it, man.

Michael: Thank you (smiles)

Bill Bellamy: When we watch your videos, they’re so innovative. They’re always with the newest and most advanced technology. How involved are you in the process of creating your videos?

Michael: Very much. Because, basically, the idea for these things comes from me, and I like to have other people collaborate with me. As for this one ”Scream”... the idea wasn’t mine. The director came up with it. I’m pretty much like to shape the ideas in my mind and design the dance moves. But there’s always a group effort behind these videos.

Bill Bellamy: Out of all your videos, when you look back and think about them, what’s your favorite Michael Jackson video?

Michael: Favorite?.... Probably something like «Trailer and Smooth Criminal» I like stuff like that. We’re planning to do more work like this.

Bill Bellamy: You’re planning to do more work like this?

Michael: Yes.

Bill Bellamy: Oh, yeah [excited]... Michael, you’re an artist known for producing your own work, but you also collaborate with a lot of other people. How do you choose the people you want to work with?

Michael: I don’t really do that. I don’t choose the artist I want to work with. I think it just happens naturally. I think they make something that seems interesting to me, and we work on it together.

Bill Bellamy: Is there any artist you’d like to work with that you haven’t worked with yet?

Michael: Probably someone like «Tchaikovsky» or «Claude Debussy». An artist who’s no longer available.

Bill Bellamy: Some of the ones who worked with you on the album «History»—who were they?

Michael: I worked with «R. Kelly, Notorious B.I.G., Boyz II Men». They’re phenomena.

Bill Bellamy: Shook it told me...

Michael: Yes «Shakil O’Neal», of course... It was great.

Bill Bellamy: He was really worried, you know, he couldn’t believe it. He said he wanted to scream.

Michael: He... he was great
Bill Bellamy: So, you had a lot of fun, right?

Michael: Yes

Bill Bellamy: The new clip «You’re Not Alone» has a song written and produced by «R. Kelly». How did you guys end up starting to work together?

Michael: He produced the song and I liked it. Actually, we produced this one together. It’s really an amazing song... «R. Kelly» is an amazing artist.

Bill Bellamy: This song is truly beautiful. I mean, the first time I heard it, I instantly liked it. I’m saying... did it have the same effect on you when you heard it?

Michael: Yes, I always have to listen to it twice.

Bill Bellamy: Twice?

Michael: When I like it, I want to listen to it again... I liked it!
