مایکل جکسون به عضویت تالار مشاهیر رقص درآمد

مایکل جکسون روز گذشته به عنوان ۴۴ امین رقصنده و طراح رقص، در موزه‌ی ملی مشاهیر رقص (National Museum of Dance and Hall of Fame) معرفی شد. تمامی رقصندگانی که پیشتر به عضویت تالار مشاهیر درآمده‌اند، از برترین‌های دنیای باله و رقص‌های نو هستند. مایکل جکسون نخستین رقصنده از دنیای موسیقی پاپ و راک است که به عضویت این تالار درآمده. مارلون جکسون نیز که مانند مایکل شمرده و آرام سخن می‌گوید، پس از دریافت جایزه‌ی برادرش بر روی صحنه گفت که ای‌کاش مایکل اینجا بود تا جایزه‌اش را خودش تحویل بگیرد. "من به دستاوردهای او در زندگی می‌بالم. او برای توانایی‌هایش، مهارتش در رقص و موسیقی شناخته شده است. من در درونم احساس بسیار خوبی دارم.... او قدردان این جایزه میشد. او از آن دست آدمها بود که هرگز به خود غره نمی‌شوند." در روز ۱۴ آگوست نیز جشنی به مناسبت مراسم روز بعد برپا شده بود که فروش بیلط‌هایش به خیریه سود می‌رساند. طی آن مراسم، میشل ریگای، رییس هیئت مدیره‌ی موزه‌ی رقص، مایکل را برای عضویت در تالار مشاهیر رقص بسیار شایسته دانسته بود. "شیوه‌ی پیشگامانه‌ی او در رقص و تاثیرش بر دنیای رقص، او را شایسته‌ی عضویت در تالار مشاهیر رقص می‌گرداند. او کسی است که مونواک را برای نخستین بار انجام داد. تمامی حرکات رقصش از روبات گرفته تا مونواک و چرخش‌هایش، همگی منحصر بفرد هستند. این رقص در کنار موسیقی از او یک انسان کامل برای معرفی شدن در این تالار میسازد." او هنگام خواندن نامه‌ای که کاترین، مادر مایکل به قصد تقدیر، برای موزه فرستاده بود به گریه افتاد. منبع: eMJey / timesunion & troyrecord
