Paris is only 16 years old — do these media outlets expect her to drink alcohol instead of water and healthy beverages?
The Daily Star also cited eyewitnesses — whose existence we cannot be certain of — saying Paris's stomach was swollen. This is in direct contradiction with recent photos taken of her in Gary, which show no such thing.
American media outlets immediately seized upon this Daily Star lie and helped spread it as widely as possible, though some did defend Paris in the process.
Roger Friedman is a journalist who has long oscillated between defending Michael Jackson and damaging his reputation, though he has consistently defended him on the subject of allegations. This time, Friedman called out the media over the new rumor, writing:
"Paris Jackson is not pregnant. I have confirmed this through members of the Jackson family. But look all over the internet. Not only have idiotic bloggers written this story, there are news videos of clowns debating Paris's pregnancy. A 16-year-old drinks water and that means she's pregnant. Paris herself addressed the matter, saying: "Newspapers claim Paris Jackson is pregnant at 16. This is very upsetting because they are judging my body. I know I'm overweight — I don't need newspapers to tell me. Screw them."
