Thriller
H1Z1 Gains Licensed Content — JULY 21, 2014. My sources at Sony Online Entertainment state, on condition of anonymity, that SOE has worked out several licensing deals for inclusion into their forthcoming zombie survival MMORPG, "H1Z1". This additional content is intended to increase the player's sense of immersion, to make the game "feel more real and alive", and also add some development funding for the studio. Here is a brief breakdown on the licensing deals, as they stand now: PepsiCo products will now be found within the game — Pepsi sodas, Lays-brand chips, Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurants, etc. Turner Network Broadcasting has purchased advertising within the game in the form of Turner-related signs and references. Examples include worn, abandoned highway billboards showing ads for current and upcoming programs on TBS and TNT, or magazines found in-game that can be opened to display such advertising. My sources state that SOE is very close to reaching a deal with the Michael Jackson Estate, which would allow Sony to include zombies from the classic MJ video "Thriller" into "H1Z1". "We feel that our H1Z1 players will enjoy these real-world references," my source stated. "This product placement will add a sense of realism to our world, and make it more immersive overall. Plus, who doesn't like Michael Jackson?" H1Z1 is apparently a zombie survival apocalyptic MMO.
