Hopes for the Release of Michael Jackson and Freddie Mercury's Collaborative Songs

William Orbit has revealed that he is working on an album of unreleased recordings by the late Freddie Mercury, lead vocalist of Queen. It is said that this album will be released around Christmas. There are hopes that the duet song(s) recorded by Michael Jackson and Freddie Mercury will also be included in this album. Michael and Freddie recorded three songs together during the 1980s, none of which have been officially released to date. It is not yet definitively known which of these songs will make it onto the album. These songs are: 1) "State of Shock" was written by Michael, and Michael and Freddie recorded it in 1981. A version of this song featuring Mick Jagger of the Rolling Stones was released in 1984 on the Jacksons' Victory album and later in 2004 on The Ultimate Collection album. A demo of the song featuring Freddie had leaked online two years prior. 2) "There Must Be More to Life Than This" was written by Freddie Mercury. Michael and Freddie recorded this song in 1983. Freddie released a version with his own voice in 1985 on his first solo album, Mr. Bad Guy. A version featuring Michael's vocals leaked online in 2002. 3) "Victory" was written by Michael and Freddie in 1983. This song was pulled from the Jacksons' Victory album and was never released.
