Beyoncé to Receive the Special Michael Jackson Award

Last autumn, the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard award went to Justin Timberlake, and two years before that Britney Spears had received it. This year, the award will go to Beyoncé.

According to MTV's announcement, this year's MTV Video Music Awards will once again feature the presentation of the King of Pop's golden award, as in previous years. The ceremony will be held on August 24th.

Beyoncé has received the most nominations this year among all music artists — in eight categories. But whether or not she wins any of those, the Michael Jackson Award is hers.

The Video Vanguard Award is given to individuals in recognition of their artistic achievements. The award was renamed the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award in 1991.
