Michael Jackson's Father Visits FC Barcelona Club Museum
Joe Jackson, Michael's father, was a guest at FC Barcelona's club museum in Spain this Saturday and received a club shirt personalized with his name.
Simon Sahouri accompanied Joe Jackson on this visit. Sahouri is the president of the Jackson Development and Marketing company and the person overseeing the project to build a Jackson arts complex in the family's hometown of Gary on behalf of the family.
Jackson posed for photos in the museum alongside the club's trophies and Lionel Messi's Golden Boot, and uploaded a selfie with the hashtag #campnouexperience to his Instagram. Jackson also walked on the Camp Nou pitch, accompanied by photographers and reporters.
Saturday marked Joe Jackson's 86th birthday, and visiting the Barcelona museum appears to have been his own birthday gift to himself.
He told reporters: "This is my first visit. I'm very excited to see such a great stadium. Everything I've seen so far has been fascinating. I truly love football, and what better way to celebrate my birthday than here. At Barcelona, players are trained in the academy and they become great footballers, but this isn't the case at other clubs. The players play together on the pitch as a team, and no one can stop them."
