Michael Jackson Stamps Coming to Market
The United States Postal Service has announced a list of stamps it plans to release in 2014 and 2015. Although this list is not final, it indicates that King of Pop Michael Jackson's stamps will be part of the collection. The stamps have not yet been designed.
The United States Postal Service had previously printed Michael Jackson stamps once before, during the star-studded mid-1980s when his fame was at its peak.
Among the other notable figures whose likenesses the United States Postal Service will use for stamps is Steve Jobs, the late founder of Apple. John Lennon, the music legend and key member of the Beatles, is another figure set to delight his fans with commemorative stamps.
The New Jersey-based news website NJ.com has organized an informal poll to gauge public interest in each of the well-known figures lined up to appear on U.S. postage stamps. In this poll, Michael Jackson leads with over 80% of the vote, followed by the Peanuts cartoon and Steve Jobs with 6% and 5% respectively.
