Today, voting concluded for the best Vanity Fair cover in the magazine's 100-year publishing history, and people around the world chose the King of Pop as deserving first place.
Thus, the December 1989 issue of Vanity Fair is named the best cover in the magazine's history.
The cover photo was taken of Michael by Annie Leibovitz. The photo depicts the King of Pop frozen mid-dance on the tips of his toes.
The voting concluded with nearly seventy-five thousand votes for Michael. Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart came in second and third with fifty thousand and twenty-seven thousand votes respectively.
