Debbie Rowe: I Blame Everyone for Michael Jackson's Death
Debbie Rowe, Michael Jackson's ex-wife, appeared in a new interview with an American news show that aired Wednesday, blaming those she believes were responsible for the King of Pop's death.
In her conversation with Entertainment Tonight, she struggled to keep her composure as she spoke, but when the host asked about the passing of her ex-husband and the father of two of her children, she broke into tears and said that many people are to blame for the death of this legend. Debbie Rowe made this statement at a time when the doctor who caused Michael's death had been released just days earlier, after serving only two years in prison, seemingly free to resume his normal life and return to his family and children. In Debbie Rowe's view, Dr. Murray is not the only one responsible for Michael Jackson's death. During the program, she condemned those who turned their backs on Michael during his lifetime when he needed their attention and support.
Debbie, fighting back tears with visible anger, said:
"They wanted to work with Michael Jackson. They wanted to tour with Michael Jackson. All those people who today claim they were his close and dear friends, who were always by his side, who say they would do anything for him — not one of them tried to help him and stop him from taking drugs. All the many people involved in This Is It — all the dancers, all the musicians, all the filmmakers, all the sound engineers who stood on that stage and watched him fall apart. The job — the tour — mattered more to them. A man died. A father died. A son died."
The 54-year-old Debbie says she wishes one of those people had used the media to expose Michael's drug problem publicly and put an end to it, but their greed and self-interest prevented them from helping Michael, and in the end they looked the other way.
Debbie also said she has good memories of Michael and will always cherish them, and that her late husband always took care of her and supported her.
"He told me my life was about to change — and it did. He has always taken good care of me."
Debbie also spoke warmly of TJ and Katherine Jackson, the guardians of her children, and completely dismissed media rumors of a rift between them.
"TJ is a wonderful man. He has a wonderful family. I love Mrs. Jackson. Perhaps none of us give his family the importance it deserves, but she is the grandmother of my children."
