Senior AEG Executives Dismissed From Case

The judge in the AEG case ruled today that the names of AEG senior executives Paul Gongaware and Randy Phillips be dismissed from the case. Katherine Jackson had filed a lawsuit against these two executives.

The judge said that the Jacksons' lawyers had been unable to prove that Gongaware and Phillips played a role in Michael Jackson's death. However, the case against AEG as a company continues, and ultimately the jury must decide whether AEG hired Dr. Murray to care for Michael.

Katherine Jackson's lawyers argued in court that Paul Gongaware and Randy Phillips had ignored signs of Michael's poor health and thereby contributed to his death. But the judge did not find these claims sufficient to bring charges against the two individuals.

Nevertheless, Katherine Jackson's lawyers believe the evidence in the case supports their claim against the company. The case may be handed over to the jury for deliberation by the end of this month. With these two names removed from the case, decision-making will be simpler for the jury.
