Katherine Jackson’s lawsuit case against AEG is in the hands of the jury

The judge in Katherine Jackson’s lawsuit against AEG ruled on Monday that the continuation of the case would depend on the jury’s verdict. If the jury determines that the company acted foolishly by hiring Conrad Murray as Michael Jackson’s personal doctor and thereby caused his death, a court hearing would be held to address AEG’s wrongdoing. The judge also removed some of Katherine’s claims against the company from the agenda. The company’s lawyer expressed satisfaction with the ruling and repeated that this lawsuit should never have been filed in the first place, because, in his view, the company had no role in Michael Jackson’s death and that, based on the procedure Murray’s doctor had followed to treat him, he would have died sooner or later anyway. Katherine believes Murray was hired by the company, but the company claims they never signed a contract with this “killer doctor.” Michael died in the summer of 2009 after his doctor administered an overdose of an anesthetic, and Murray was found guilty by a jury two years later and sentenced to four years in prison.
