Siedah Garrett: Michael Jackson Was a Ball of Energy
Siedah Garrett, one of the two writers of the beautiful song Man In The Mirror that Michael performed for the album BAD, and also Michael’s duet on another song from the same album titled I Just Can’t Stop Loving You, described Michael in an interview with Celebuzz as a ball of energy.
"When you collaborated with him, he treated you in such a way that it felt like he was learning from you just as much as you were learning from him. That’s a rare personality trait. His behavior made me feel better. He was truly an interesting person... Anyone else in his place could have turned into a self-absorbed, arrogant person. He was the King of Pop, but he was gentle, pleasant, and unpretentious—and of course, a ball of energy and very creative. You can see a glimpse of his creativity in the documentary (Bad 25)."
When Garrett introduced Man In The Mirror to be considered for placement on the Bad album, Michael was just as eager to meet her as she was to meet Michael—and that surprised Garrett.
"I wanted to write an important song so that Michael could say something important to the world. His audience was the whole world. I wanted to see him, I don’t even know how I had the nerve to think about meeting an artist at that level. But he didn’t just want to meet me because of my voice—he wanted to see the writer of the song."
