Restoration of the HIStory Michael Jackson Statue

For fifteen years, the Michael Jackson statue made to promote the album HIStoy (HIStory) has stood in front of a McDonald’s restaurant in the village of West in the Netherlands.

Now the statue has been removed from its place by a specialized company so it can be repaired. Several fresh layers of polyester resin will be applied, as well as three protective layers. These protective layers are similar to those used in the shipping industry to protect ships. With the new measures, the statue’s lifespan is expected to be guaranteed for another ten to fifteen years. After the repairs are completed, the statue will return to its previous location in December.
