Emmanuel Lewis Defends Michael Jackson’s Innocence (Download Video)

Emmanuel Lewis, the 41-year-old American actor who became famous as a child through the comedy TV series “Webster,” recently appeared as a guest on one of America’s television shows.

During the Thriller album era, he began a friendly relationship with Michael Jackson, and Michael took him—along with Brooke Shields—to the 1984 Grammy Awards ceremony. At that event, Michael set a record by receiving eight awards, establishing the most awards won in a single night—an achievement that has never been broken.

On the program, a segment of 1984 home videos was shown in which Michael and Lewis stand together and dance. Lewis said about it: “This was recorded in our home. My brother was always filming us.”

When the discussion turned to the accusation of child sexual abuse against Michael, Lewis said:

“It was horrible. You know he’s an amazing man—you know he has a heart of gold—and you know that the things people accuse him of, he never did. After his death, some of the same people who had accused him admitted that Michael never committed such acts, and that they had been talking against him under pressure from parents and so on and so on, and for money. And many in the media also stopped hiding things and told the truth—but it was already too late. They turned his life into hell.”

Regarding the documentary “Living with Michael Jackson,” in which Martin Bashir lists Lewis as one of the victims, he said:

“They’ve always been telling stupid things on my behalf. But the truth is that we had very good times with him. He was always a great friend—not just to me, but to all the members of my family. That’s why we gave him some of those home videos. He borrowed them, and of course he never returned them. And this old video that I saw today (after all these years) and it’s been edited so well shows that Michael was a perfectionist.”
