Michael Jackson will be inducted into the R&B Hall of Fame

When the R&B Hall of Fame and musicians are inaugurated next May, Michael Jackson—the King of Pop—will be among the first artists honored at a ceremony.

The R&B museum is expected to begin being built next summer as soon as the host city is selected. After this news was announced, the list of the first artists who will be inducted into the Hall of Fame was released to the media.

The ceremony will be held on May 5, 2013 in Cleveland, Ohio, during which 25 artists—including Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Aretha Franklin, James Brown, and The Temptations—will be honored and inducted into the R&B Hall of Fame.

This honor will go to artists who have achieved major accomplishments in this style of music.
