Michael Jackson and Cloney Records

Last month, Cloney Records announced that it would be closing down. Since it was founded in ۱۹۴۸, this music store had been a favourite stop for passers-by in Times Square, New York City. In this store, you could find almost anything related to the world of music— even the oddities that you couldn’t find in other shops. For this reason, Cloney Records was also nicknamed the Aladdin’s cave.

The store had many famous customers. One of its managers recalls a regular customer who, as it happened, was a young and very popular artist named Michael Jackson.

"He didn’t buy—he swept the store! He bought all of Michael Jackson’s dolls, magazines, and albums. Like a child in a candy shop. He spent thousands of dollars buying his collections and memorabilia."

The managers say the store has been losing money because these days people do most of their shopping online, and this old store has no chance of surviving.
