The Jacksons are back in the headlines!
Fox News reports that Katherine Jackson is missing! The outlet says that Los Angeles police received a report of Katherine Jackson’s disappearance—Michael’s mother—last night. Her disappearance was reported to police by Trent Jackson, one of Katherine’s relatives. He says that Katherine’s grandchildren were unable to reach their grandmother over the past week. After the news was announced, Jermaine Jackson, Katherine’s son, said that his mother is ultimately healthy and is enjoying her time off in Arizona, as diagnosed by a doctor!
But this morning, Paris, Michael Jackson’s 14-year-old daughter, wrote on Twitter: "My grandmother is missing—I haven’t spoken to her in a week." She asked people to contact the police if they see her.
In another tweet, she said: "The same doctor who testified in favor of Dr. Murray and called my father an addict (a lie) is now taking care of my grandmother. I just wanted you to know."
(It had previously been said that Michael’s children have no knowledge of the testimonies given in the Conrad Murray trial, the man who killed their father!—In the past, Janet Jackson, Michael’s sister, had spoken to Oprah about Michael’s addiction; Paris considers those statements to be lies.)
The situation escalated to the point that the Los Angeles Police Department issued a statement:
"According to relatives, Katherine Jackson is in Arizona with family members. On Saturday night, another family member informed us that they were unable to reach Katherine Jackson and were concerned about her health and safety. Authorities are trying to contact Katherine Jackson so she can inform the local police of her well-being."
On the other hand, one of Katherine’s lawyers, Sandra Ribera, told CNN that:
"On July 15, Mrs. Jackson left her home in Calabasas for Albuquerque, New Mexico, to attend her sons’ concert, which took place two days later. Since then, Michael’s children have been trying to reach their grandmother. They have been told that it is not possible to access Katherine, and we are worried about her safety."
She also said that Katherine Jackson has never previously left her home for more than 24 hours without contacting her grandchildren (Michael’s children, for whom she is the guardian).
According to CNN, Katherine Jackson left the home with her daughter Rebbie for Albuquerque, but she did not go there. Katherine’s true destination has not been identified.
