Chris Brown: I Want Michael Jackson to Be Proud of Me
In a new interview, Chris Brown talked about the experience of performing on stage in front of Michael Jackson during the World Music Awards in London in ۲۰۰۶:
"One of the best moments of my entire career. People were happy with the performance. I met him backstage. He greeted my mother. He was very respectful. It was a big moment in my life."
He also spoke about working with Michael and being influenced by him:
"He and I talked again and again through our connections about working together. We had songs lined up for the project. But God had other plans."
"I don’t want to be Michael Jackson—I just want to be myself. I want him to be proud of me. I don’t want to imitate him because I hate copying. I don’t want to be someone else’s copy."
Paris, Michael’s daughter, is one of Chris Brown’s biggest fans. Last year, she made headlines by attending the front row concert.
