Michael Jackson Foundation deal with Ola Ray
Ola Ray, Michael Jackson’s co-star in the short film Thriller, sued Michael’s company in May 2009, claiming she had not received her rights for the film. Now it has been reported that the Michael Jackson Foundation and Mrs. Ray have reached a settlement in this case, although this news has not been officially confirmed by the Foundation.
John Landis, the director of the film, also made a similar claim. According to sources, the Michael Jackson Foundation is currently handling John Landis’ request.
The 1983 Thriller trailer was selected two years ago in a MySpace poll as the most influential video in music history. The trailer is the only music video that has been registered in the National Library of Congress of the United States as a national work. This music video was also chosen by the public in last August’s Billboard poll as the best work of the 1980s.
