An exhibition of Michael Jackson’s clothes
Julien’s Auctions, in collaboration with Museo de la Moda, the Chilean fashion house in Santiago, has been holding an exhibition of Michael Jackson’s luxurious outfits since May 18.
These outfits, all sewn by two famous fashion designers, Dennis Tompkins and Michael Bush, are set to be sold at an auction on December 2 at the California Gallery in Beverly Hills. Of course, before that, they will be displayed in South America, Europe, Asia, and the United States. Part of the auction proceeds will go to charities.
Descriptions of some of the auction items are included in Michael Bush’s new book, "Dressing Michael Jackson: Behind the Seams of a Fashion Icon". The book will be released on October 16, and people who attend the exhibition can pre-order it. The book explains the designs of Michael Jackson’s outfits and contains valuable images, and will be printed in limited quantities.
The Beat It jacket that Michael wore on stage during the Dangerous Tour, the Bad Tour outfit, the outfit from the History video clip with the 777 symbol on his arm, the iconic shoes and gloves, the outfit from the film Captain Eo, the outfit from the video Scream—these are some of the items in this auction.
