Michael Jackson’s Final Mask to Be Auctioned
A black silk medical mask that Michael Jackson used to cover his face one day before his death is being auctioned off by Eric Mohammed, his personal bodyguard.
There are signs of Michael’s face makeup on the mask, and a strand of Michael’s hair is also attached to it.
According to Mohammed, this mask was sewn specifically for Michael’s London concerts (This Is It), and Michael used it during a rehearsal session on June 24 at the Staples Center. The King of Pop passed away the following afternoon.
Mohammed has attached a letter as proof of the mask’s authenticity. He also provided his pay check as evidence that he was employed by Michael.
The Nate D. Sanders Auction house is overseeing the auction. The bidding ends on April 30, and the current bid for the mask has already risen to $21,000. Sanders Auction house believes the mask will sell for at least $50,000.
