Michael Jackson Foundation Statement on Dick Clark’s Death
The Michael Jackson Foundation has released the following statement regarding Dick Clark’s passing:
“Dick Clark was one of the greatest showmen and one of the most influential ambassadors of pop music. He made history again and again. The show Bandstand first brought Black artists across all of America into the living rooms of people’s homes. In 1958 in Atlanta, he put on one of the first multi-racial concerts (without discrimination, with participation from different races) with the support of the United States National Guard. Michael and Dick had a very special relationship, and we remember him with love and appreciation.”
