A Michael Jackson Sweatshirt Is Up for Sale

The sweatshirt that Michael Jackson had worn briefly after performing a concert from the Bad tour on September 11, 1988, in Liverpool, England, will be sold at an auction in Dorset on February 21. The starting price for this sweatshirt is $4,000.

On that day, the King of Pop wore the sweatshirt for a short time, and then he gave it as a gift to one of his female fans on the occasion of her birthday. The woman’s husband was Michael’s driver in Liverpool, which allowed her to get backstage at the concert. She watched Michael’s performance from the corners of the stage and saw one of the dancers throw the sweatshirt onto his shoulders.

Backstage, the woman asked Michael for a photo, and Michael told her that he would give her something better than a photo. He then took the sweatshirt off and gave it to her.

This hooded sweatshirt is one of several sweatshirts that were specially sewn for the dancers of the tour. On the back of this sweatshirt, Michael’s dancer’s legs are sewn in, and the following text is written: “Michael Jackson - 88 World Tour 87”. On the front of the sweatshirt, the name of the tour dancer, Dominic Lucero, is also written.

Since then, the sweatshirt has never been washed and has been preserved with the utmost care. The woman says she is selling the sweatshirt after 23 years so that someone else can enjoy it too.
