Conrad Murray Banned From Practicing in Texas

Conrad Murray has finally been banned from practicing medicine in the state of Texas as well. Previously, in January 2011, the state of California revoked his medical license, and in July of the same year his medical license in the state of Nevada expired.

On Friday, the Texas Board of Medical Examiners revoked Conrad Murray’s medical license, which he had been serving in prison for the crime of involuntary manslaughter of Michael Jackson. Of course, in 2010, the state had also prohibited Murray from injecting any sedative or anesthetic drugs into people.

A spokesperson for the Texas board says that because Conrad Murray was already in prison, they didn’t see the need to rush to revoke his medical license, since he posed no danger to the community. They decided to allocate the financial and human resources needed for this elsewhere.

Conrad Murray, on June 25, 2009, caused Michael Jackson’s cardiac arrest and death by injecting a large amount of the anesthetic propofol and then leaving him. Twelve jurors found him guilty and he was sentenced to the maximum penalty. But he still does not consider himself guilty and has not accepted his crime. Instead of asking for forgiveness from Michael’s family and children, he made a documentary in which he lied about events before and after Michael’s death.

Murray has asked the appeals court judge to release him. His lawyer said that Murray knows he cannot practice medicine, but he wants to find work in California to cover the costs of his seven children. A hearing for Murray’s request for a hearing has been scheduled for February 24.
