Michael Jackson statues at the Washington exhibition

Michael Jackson’s wax statues are heading to Washington for an exhibition at the Madame Tussauds museum in Los Angeles. The exhibition will run until March 13. This tour is the first of its kind, and includes three wax figures of Michael in his teenage years and the Jackson 5 era, his youth, the Bad album era, his midlife, and the This Is It tour era. The This Is It statue is Michael Jackson’s 13th wax figure and is inspired by his pose on the This Is It tour poster. The statue was completed by 20 people over a period of four months, and it was unveiled on August 27, 2009 at the Madame Tussauds museum in Hollywood.

The first wax figure of Michael Jackson was made by Madame Tussauds in 1984. Since then, wax figures have been made of him in six different periods. He holds the record for the number of wax statues among all artists, with 13 figures. In fact, Queen Elizabeth II is the only well-known figure whose number of statues is greater than his.
