Jo Jackson’s Fragrance and Cologne Is Ready to Be Sold

Jo Jackson, Michael’s father, will be bringing a fragrance and cologne to the market this month, which he says is a tribute to his son—even though Michael’s name is not mentioned on them.

The Michael Jackson Foundation and the company Bravado, which bought the exclusive rights to produce products bearing Michael’s logo and emblem from the foundation, had said that Jo Jackson’s fragrance and cologne are illegal because they have Michael’s name on them, and they cannot be offered for sale.

Jo promoted this fragrance and cologne last May at the Cannes Film Festival in Paris and faced a strong backlash from Bravado. Bravado then took legal action against Jo Jackson and requested compensation.

Jo does not receive any share of Michael’s wealth, and his name is not mentioned in the will. He even does not receive a monthly allowance from the foundation, unlike his wife Catherine. Michael had repeatedly talked about the violence and mistreatment his father subjected him to during his childhood.

Jo says his new product will be sold in Las Vegas starting January 21. This fragrance and cologne are made by the company Julien Roaz Paris. Jo Jackson’s partner, Roaz, said that they do not use Michael’s name or image on their products, and that the new product will be sold in specific stores according to the wishes of the Jackson family.

It’s unclear which members of the family, besides Jo Jackson, are involved in producing this product. But Jo and Roaz, during a ceremony held last August on Michael’s birthday in his hometown, Gary, also continued to promote the product and used Paris — Michael’s daughter — for this purpose. Photos of 13-year-old Paris along with the fragrance and cologne were published in the media.

The starting price for these products has been announced as $59.
