Michael Jackson’s hair sold
You could call it a celebration of Michael Jackson—or another exploitation of his name to make money.
On Saturday, the website OnlineGamblingPal.com bought, at an online auction held by Gottahaverockandroll.com, several strands of hair said to belong to Michael Jackson for $10,871. The site was one of 15 eager buyers. 
The hair dates back to the 1980s and was taken from the hotel Carlyle bathroom drain in New York. Michael was staying there to attend a charity event.
Although there is plenty of doubt about whether this hair really belonged to Michael, in any case these strands will be displayed under his name. But how!? In a new way—they will turn this hair into a roulette wheel for gambling. Something like this picture:
Maybe the casino that bought the hair is hoping that playing with this roulette will bring them luck—or, in fact, profit.
A spokesperson for the casino says:
"Since we are die-hard Michael Jackson fans, we are very happy that we won the auction. Since his death in 2009, which plunged us into deep grief, we’ve been looking for a way to celebrate his life, which has such huge dimensions, and to thank him for the many years of joy and fun he brought us, and to pay a unique tribute to the incomparable Pop King."
Earlier this year, in January, a strand of Michael’s hair from 1984 was also auctioned. In that year, Michael suffered a burn on his scalp during an incident while filming a Pepsi commercial. He was badly injured, and doctors considered his survival a miracle. Michael received $1.5 million in damages from Pepsi and spent all of it on setting up high-pressure oxygen room technology in the hospital to treat the burn.
At the time of the incident, Ralph Cohen, the executive producer of the commercial, threw his coat over Michael’s head to put out the fire. A strand of Michael’s hair stuck to his coat, and its fate was to be sold at auction. That strand, which measured one-sixteenth of an inch (1.6 millimeters), was put up for sale on a card with a starting price of $1,000.
