Merry Christmas, Michael’s Family

For the occasion of Christmas, we’re making available for download a short section of Michael Jackson’s private home movies (Private Home Movies) from 1993 at Neverland. In this video, we see Elizabeth Taylor decorating the house for Christmas while Michael is out of sight. This was the first time Michael had ever celebrated Christmas in his life.

Michael says:

“I’ve seen a lot of people in my life, but very few of them were true friends to me. There are no more than the number of people you can count on one hand, and Elizabeth is one of them.”

Elizabeth says she spent five years trying to bring Christmas to Michael’s home.

“I know that Jehovah’s Witness members don’t celebrate Christmas. But Michael is no longer part of that group. I told him that Christmas is a celebration of love. I can’t imagine Christmas without Michael, and I can’t imagine Michael without Christmas.”

Michael says he didn’t know about the preparations Elizabeth had made and was completely surprised.

In the video, we see Elizabeth walking toward Michael’s bedroom on Christmas morning to wake him up from his nice sleep. Michael had a habit of working at night and sleeping in the morning. Eventually, Michael comes out of his room and is amazed that Elizabeth has decorated the entire house.

He says:

“I went to the bathroom and I cried there. I thought I had done something wrong. Because we didn’t celebrate Christmas since childhood.”

Then they open the gifts. A red jacket for Michael, and the rest get water guns to soak anyone who steps through the gates of Neverland. Michael says getting soaked in Neverland is a rule, and he loves it.
