Global Company on the Brink of Bankruptcy

Global Events held a Michael Jackson memorial concert in Wales last month. Because it coincided with the trial for Michael’s murder and for some other reasons, including incorrect ticket sales policies, it faced opposition from 35 Michael Jackson fan communities and several members of the Jackson family. They boycotted the concert, and this caused the concert tickets to not sell well. The company was forced to give away a free ticket with the purchase of each ticket and also lower the ticket price in order to fill the 75,000-seat stadium. In this way, 50,000 people attended the concert.

Some of the artists who were supposed to perform at the concert withdrew from the stage shortly before it took place.

The Michael Jackson Foundation announced that nobody had contacted them to obtain permission, and as a result, the live TV broadcast of the concert was canceled.

Beyond all these issues, fans never forgave one mistake: the company’s invitation to the rock band Kase to perform at this concert. Angry fans strongly protested when Gene Simmons, the singer of this band—who had previously insulted Michael—showed up, and the company was forced to withdraw the invitation to the band Kase.

Despite all the problems, the concert still took place. But some time ago, news came that the wages of those involved in organizing the concert had still not been paid, and Catherine Jackson had also expressed hope that the officials would fulfill their commitments as soon as possible.

Now Wales Online reports that the Global company has a heavy debt of several thousand pounds and claims that they are on the verge of bankruptcy.

This company was founded in March of this year by Michael Henry and Chris Hunt, and they expected that by holding a concert for Michael Jackson, their business would flourish. Their introduction to the Jackson family happened through Latoya Jackson, Michael’s sister. They had prepared a video clip for Latoya.

It has been reported that Henry and Hunt gave up the partnership on October 8, the day the Michael memorial concert was held.

David Donovan from the Wales Radio and Television Union said:

“Some union members are owed money by this company. We can’t help them much because the affairs have been handed over to the receiver.”

If the receiver cannot save Global, we will witness the dissolution of this new company.
