For the Second Year in a Row: Michael Jackson the Highest-Earning Deceased Artist

Forbes magazine says Michael Jackson is the highest-earning deceased person for the second year in a row.

Forbes reports that over the past 12 months, the Michael Jackson Foundation earned $170 million. This income came from the never-ending Cirque du Soleil tour, sales of Michael’s albums, and the Sony/ATV catalog.

Michael’s earnings last year were $275 million, which was the highest among both living and deceased artists.

Although this year’s income is lower than last year’s, it is still enough to name Michael Jackson the second-highest-earning artist among living artists and the top among deceased artists. U2 ranks first among living artists.

Elvis Presley with $55 million, Marilyn Monroe with $27 million, Charles Schulz with $25 million, Elizabeth Taylor and John Lennon with $12 million were this year’s highest-earning deceased artists after Michael Jackson.
