Michael Jackson Is Number One Again

“You Are Not Alone” is no longer Michael Jackson’s most recent number-one single on Billboard (it had reached number one on Billboard 100). Now, “Hollywood Tonight” is Michael’s first number-one single on the Billboard chart in 16 years. This is Michael’s eighth solo single to top Billboard’s Club Dance Songs chart. Billboard places “Hollywood Tonight” alongside Michael’s other number-one songs on this chart, alongside Enrique Iglesias, as the artist with the most Club Dance number-one singles among men in Billboard’s 35-year history. Prince follows them with 7 singles. Among women, Madonna with 40 songs and Janet Jackson—Michael’s sister—with 19 songs are in first and second place. Michael’s first appearance on the Club Dance chart was in 1975 with the Jackson 5 song “Forever Came Today.” The song stayed at the top for four weeks.
