Latoya Jackson Says Michael Had Forgiven Her

In 1993, when allegations of child sexual abuse against Michael Jackson were raised, her older sister Latoya accused him of inappropriate behavior toward boys. Some time after separating from her husband, Jack Gordon, she said in a television interview that her husband had threatened to kill Michael if she did not bring up such accusations.

Jack Gordon was Latoya’s manager and later married her. Latoya said that she took semi-nude photos for Playboy magazine in 1989 at her husband’s insistence. Latoya says her officers watched her behavior the entire time. She accused her former husband of brutally assaulting her, and said that once, when he attacked her, she passed out, and Jack believed she was dead—leaving her alone—while Latoya took advantage of the opportunity to escape.

The judge in their divorce case ordered Gordon to never come near Latoya. Jack Gordon died a few years ago, and Latoya visited his body to make sure he was dead.

Latoya withdrew her accusations against Michael and called him innocent. She has spoken about it again recently:

“I had the chance to talk to him about the 1993 incident, and he completely forgave me.”

In her new book, “Starting Over,” Latoya once again emphasizes that the false accusations against Michael were made because she was afraid of her husband. She says Michael knew that her sister’s words could not have been true.

She recalls Michael’s words:

“Latoya, I know your heart. I know you would never do anything that would hurt me. I know he got you to take photos for Playboy.”

Latoya says Michael always warned her about Jack Gordon:

“He told me you have to get rid of him—he will eventually kill you.”

Latoya continues by saying that she and Michael were very close and best friends.
